We LOVE Picking Weeds!

8/3/2014

arightarightaright.

Aiko is doing great- but we hit another road bump. Probably a bit to personal to share on my email. But. She is SO close. SO close. So we got our transfer call right?......annnnnddddd IIIIiiiiiiiii ammmmmm STAYING IN NAGASAKI! Whoooooohoooo!! This will be my 6th transfer here! I am way stoked. Nagasaki is my home. The people here make the hills soooo worth it. We talked to Aiko about baptism-asked her if she had been praying about it, and she said she had been praying everyday. And then when she found out I wasn't transferring, she felt like that was a straight answer to her prayer- that it meant we were going to ganbaru together till the end. It was a really sweet moment. That lesson we had with her was one of the best ones I have had on my mission. The spirit was definitely there, and we got to ask some bold questions that helped us get through to her. It was a great lesson. We felt like we should share the Brother of Jared in Ether. And I realized just how amazing this talk is. The lesson we felt like we should help her learn from it, was that Heavenly Father has a promised land for all of us, but it takes faith to get there. Simple, sweet, and true. She loved it. I love seeing investigators being amazing by the scriptures. It gets me so pumped.

So I am still with Stevenson Shimai, and MAN we are on fire. Things are even better with us than they were our second transfer. I love her so much haha She knows me too well... she puts up with all my jokes, my nerd moods and voices, and my weirdness. She tells me im the biggest nerd she knows. Never have a ever received a greater compliment. I love her to death.

Well, oh! Bush shimai is here in the apartment with me!!!! Whiiiiiiccchhhh means I have a running mate everyday!! Dream come true.

The rain has been awesome.

Suen is being a bum. Pray for her. She is going back to China in a week.

Okay, I finally copied down the scriptures that I have in my PMG next to the "No Effort is Wasted" section----- D&C 18:15-16, 1 Samuel 3:19, Galatians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 15:58, Moroni 9:6. If you ever feel like you aren't making a difference---read those scriptures, and Heavenly Father will tell you otherwise!

Fun fact--Brother of Jared-Mahonri Moriancumr desho? The talk where that was said is in the talk "Lessons from the Atonement That Help Us to Endure to the End" by Robert D. Hales. fun fun.

So, this week we got to meet with a girl who has been less active for a couple years- she is 17, and she is a cutie. Little by little, we have made progress, and finally this week she met with us. We made cake together and watched youth videos. As simple as that. And yet- it worked miracles. She is opening up! Her mom bore her testimony in sacrament meeting, and said how grateful she was for the missionaries working with her, and talked about how she has been changing. That was one of my favorite moments on my mission. It was like Heavenly Father being like 'you are on the right track!'. The ward got really excited about it too, and we had this whole meeting about how they want us to organize a big activity specifically for her. If there is one thing I love to do is have WARD PARTIES. Daisuki.

One of the greatest moments in the rain were had this past week! We didn't bring out rain suits because it was raining desho? so. we get out of our lesson and we only have 10 minutes to make a 15 minute bike ride, and man. It began to POUR. I couldn't help myself. We were biking down the streets, and I was just screaaaming all the songs I know with the word 'rain' in it. It was glorious. The rain was so loud I couldn't even hear myself. I was as happy as happy could be.

I am so sorry this isn't the funnest letter. But man. It was a good weak.

LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BEYOND!

Sincerely,
with all the love in the world,
Lane Shimai!!!!!
