Well, every week is new and this week I definitely forgot I was supposed to write a weekly email! hahaha so here it goes.
Weirdest part of my week- it was quite a journey. A less active in the ward finally agreed to meet with us, and we were so darn excited. She is recently divorced, 40s, has a son. we tried to find her house. for hours. up and down the same mountain, carrying our bikes. Im not complaining- it was quite the adventure. We finally find the house- HALLELUJAH- and she invites us in. She is heavily medicated- sits us down, and tells us she needs our help. GREAT! (right?). by this point I was on the verge of going crazy, but man! Now I get to help someone! Yay! (I thought). Then her first question. Leonardo DiCaprio- Shitte imasu ka? (do you know who leonardo Dicaprio is)....yes....can you translate this letter for me?
...I lost it. I started laughing on the inside because of the whole situation. Tears started coming out. I looked at my companion- thankfully she was a bit more under control. It was one of those moments where the laughter just overtakes you. I think maybe im improving though. I got control of myself after a little bit- and the lady didn't even notice. Which is good. anyways, we wrote a letter to Leonardo DiCaprio from his biggest fan this week. Gotta love missionary work! Dont worry, we shared a message with her after that! She fell asleep.
This week we were dendoing- streeting- and we were both in a great mood. Laughing, talking, quizzing each other on our Japanese, sharing the Gospel with all the world. Great stuff right? bright sunny day. then we see a little kitten (my compaion loves animals) and so she is fawning over it, and then it runs away and we see that it has two twisted legs. It was sad. So we keep walking, and after a little too long of silence I look behind me, and my compaion is in tears. It was the sweetest little thing hahaha I just started laughing cause it was so cute. Reminded me of a little gidl Anyways, so we were laughing together even though she was still crying too, and in the process she looses her contact and everything escalated and haha. yeah. it was a great moment.
Yukari is doing great too! We are trying to set her up with this guy in the ward who just got back from his mission. The things that sister missionaries do haha. basically, they dont know it but she is going to get baptized, then they will fall in love, get married in the temple, and then have 10 kids. I cant wait.
I gotta say- when people dont show up at church I feel like their mother. My companion was just laughing at me yesterday, but boy was I ticked at a certain someone. I feel like her mother. Her angry mother. Anyways enough of that.
The church is true! My tights are blue, and its been thundering today!
We get to go to the lantern festival tonight. Guess who else is going? Yurimasa (that returned missionary), his family, and Yukari. hehehe. And at last I see the light! And its like...the fog has lifted...anyways. Its gonna happen.
3 Nephi 15:21, John 10:16. Read it! Heavenly Father has been putting it in my head for the past few days. Every time I open my scriptures its there. I know that Christ is our Shepherd. And He is just patiently waiting for us to follow Him. He loves us with the most infinite eternal love. And He is just waiting to comfort us, waiting to help us improve, waiting to share happy times together- He is always there. His sheep hear Him, and know His voice! He leads us when we let Him. He loves us so much He wont ever take away our free agency. Its all up to us to choose to follow Him, but once we do, everything becomes brighter. Life is so good!
